6:00pm Alive After Five with The BlairXperience LINK
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Larry Blair’s vocal prowess ranges from velvety and sultry, to raw and soulful, and his stage presence is off the charts. He started his musical career as one of the lead vocalists in a group he and his brothers formed, called “The Blair Brothers”, becoming well known in many local circuits. He later formed a solo project which evolved into the current BlairXperience which has a range of music that is endless, from Pop, Gospel, R&B, Blues, and Soul. All tickets are sold at the door beginning at 4:45 pm.

3:00 pm Free Family Concert by Oak Ridge Symphony & Chorus LINK
Introduce your family to classical music. Come one, come all to hear the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra & Chorus performing fun favorites! Youth Aliyah Concerto Winners will wow you performing music by 19th century French composer Édouard Lalo and 19th century German prodigy Felix Mendelssohn. After the concert, stop by the musical instrument “petting zoo” and enjoy post-concert snacks.

6:00 pm UT School of Music guest artist recital: Taylor Brown, double bass
Taylor Brown is the principle bassist of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. In addition to his orchestral and outreach work with the CSO, Taylor regularly performs with the Pittsburgh and Nashville Symphonies, and appears in concert with Intersection Contemporary Ensemble.

Ascension’s very own Director of Music Ministries, Mr. James Garvey, will present an organ recital on the Wilhelm organ in honor of the 30th anniversary of its dedication. Scheduled are a concerto by Bach, the trio sonata by Hugo Distler, Franck’s Choral in B minor, the Final to Jean-Pierre Leguay’s sonata, and pieces from Suite Bretonne and the Evocation suite by Marcel Dupré.
