8:00 p.m. UT School of Music (LINK) Guest artist recital: Projeto Arcomusical
Arcomusical is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to spread the joy of the Afro-Brazilian musical bow known as the berimbau through the development of an innovative, excellent musical repertoire. Although the berimbau is well-known in Brazil, most people in the United States are not familiar with its elegant simplicity. Arcomusical is changing that landscape. Their concert will feature music composed both by, and specifically for, their ensemble.

2:30 p.m. KSO Chamber Classics Peter and the Wolf and Other Symphonic Tales (LINK)
Prokofiev’s simple, charming, magical tale of Peter and the Wolf has introduced countless young ears to the instruments of the orchestra and to wonders of classical music. Revisit that childlike wonder that still lives inside us all with a program of fairy tales and legends, featuring Peter and other beloved characters from our favorite bedtime stories. Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite is a pristine gem, comprising five vignettes inspired by stories including Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast and more. Stravinsky’s delightful, refreshing Pulcinella Suite, about the antics of a tragicomic clown-like character and all his friends, along with Sibelius’ melancholy Valse triste. This program is designed for adults, and kids alike.

Bailye Hendley will be performing Engene Bozza's En Foret, Jane Vignery's Sonata for horn and piano, the first movement of the Margaret Brouwer Sonata for horn and piano, Espana from Buyanovsky's Travel Impressions, and more with her accompanist Dr. Bernadette Lo!
